Discover Torikizoku

If you're looking for a lively dining experience in the heart of Tokyo, Torikizoku is a spot that promises to deliver authentic flavors, casual vibes, and an unbeatable atmosphere. Located in the Shimbashi Plaza Bldg., 3階, 4 Chome-9-1 Shinbashi, Minato City, Tokyo, this cozy izakaya offers a unique twist on traditional yakitori, focusing on skewered chicken dishes that are both affordable and delicious.

As soon as you step inside, you're welcomed by the relaxed, no-frills ambiance. The restaurant is designed to give you a homey, comfortable feel, which is typical of the casual izakayas scattered throughout Japan. The seating arrangements are simple, yet perfect for enjoying a night out with friends or a casual dinner after a long day of exploring the city. The open kitchen provides a glimpse into the grilling process, adding an element of excitement as the delicious aroma of char-grilled meats fills the air.

One of the most striking features of Torikizoku is its straightforward yet varied menu, offering a wide selection of yakitori, from classic chicken skewers to more adventurous options. Whether you’re a fan of juicy thigh pieces or prefer the crispiness of chicken skin, there’s something for everyone. For those not particularly keen on poultry, the menu also includes other grilled delicacies such as vegetables, seafood, and even unique sides that complement the main dishes perfectly. Every skewer is grilled to perfection, with a delightful smoky flavor that can only come from a traditional charcoal grill.

While yakitori is undoubtedly the star of the show, Torikizoku also prides itself on offering a selection of sauces and seasonings that take these skewers to another level. You can choose from a variety of dipping sauces, such as tare (sweet soy sauce), or opt for a sprinkle of salt to bring out the natural flavors of the meat. The seasoning is never overpowering, but just enough to enhance the savory goodness of each bite.

The drinks menu at Torikizoku is just as impressive, offering a range of refreshing beers, shochu, and sake to wash down your meal. Many visitors recommend pairing your skewers with a cold Asahi or a traditional highball, both of which complement the grilled flavors beautifully. And if you're in the mood for something more substantial, the sake selection won't disappoint, with options that range from easy-drinking varieties to more complex brews.

When it comes to pricing, Torikizoku stands out as a great value for money. It’s one of those places where you can enjoy high-quality food without breaking the bank. Most of the skewers are priced affordably, and you can easily share a variety of items with friends or family without stretching your budget. This affordability, combined with the quality and flavor of the dishes, makes Torikizoku a popular choice for both locals and tourists alike.

Beyond the food and drink, the service at Torikizoku deserves a mention. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to offer recommendations if you're undecided on what to try. Even during peak hours, the atmosphere remains welcoming, with a fast turnover and a sense of energy that keeps things lively without feeling overwhelming.

Located just a stone’s throw from Shimbashi Station, Torikizoku is conveniently situated for both Tokyo residents and visitors exploring the city. Whether you're just passing through or looking for a regular hangout, the location makes it an easy stop for a satisfying meal. The Shimbashi area itself is known for its vibrant nightlife, making Torikizoku an excellent choice for those looking to dive into the local food scene after a busy day of sightseeing or work.

In terms of customer reviews, the feedback on Torikizoku is overwhelmingly positive. Guests frequently rave about the quality of the food, the laid-back atmosphere, and the excellent value for money. It's one of those rare gems that manages to combine great food with an inviting environment, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area. Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, Torikizoku offers a consistent, high-quality dining experience that keeps patrons coming back for more.

  • We were craving yakitori during our trip but we're getting old now so we were looking for somewhere other than a cramped and crowded alleyway (which we've done on previous visits). We decided on YAKITORI Torikizoku 鳥貴族 新橋プラザビル店 which is located on the 3rd floor of the Shinbashi Plaza Building Store. It took us a little while to figure out where the elevator to the restaurant was. Inside, it was quite busy and loud (lots of people enjoying themselves and drinking). You order by tablet which makes things a bit easier. We wound ordering a bunch of stuff (most skewers came with 2 pieces per plate): Potato salad, edamame, beef skewers, pork belly skewers, crispy chicken skin (really good so we had 2 orders), stuffed green peppers, chicken thigh (very tender), chicken meatball (always a good choice), special sauce chicken and leek skewer (deliciously crispy so we got 2 orders), chicken wing (they flayed the wings and this was a tasty fish we ordered twice), grilled chicken thigh and leek (definitely worth 2 orders), salted cucumber with sesame oil, chicken drum skewer with red sauce, and chicken breast and leek skewers. In total, our meal came out to 7770 yen for four people. A very lively place to enjoy tasty skewers.

  • My partner and I visited around 9pm on Thursday, we waited 10 minutes for our turn, and there was a book for you to write your name in so you know how many people are in line before you. We were seated Infront of the yaki grill window, which was nice to see all the skewers getting cooked Infront of us. Ordering was very foreigner friendly, there's a tablet placed on each table and also has English translation. They have photos and descriptions of each dish so it's relatively straight forward! Each item/dish on the menu is ¥370 (as of April 2025), which is a decent feed and price. We had a couple meatball skewers (glazed and salted), bell peppers, chicken and leek, and beef. For sides, cabbage with sesame oil (big serving), and the leek and bonito flakes. Dessert was churros ice cream, and drinks was ginger soda and a couple of cola highballs the atmosphere was buzzing, convenient shelves underneath the table for bag storage, and hangers on top to place your jackets. We'd definitely be returning!

  • Great value where everything is 370 yen. But that doesnt mean the food is bad. There might be a queue. Recommend you order the grated ya..

  • Its on the 3rd floor. No takeout, but an incredibly affordable and delicious meal with attentive staff.

  • Excellent no frills yakitori place which serves great value grilled chicken skewers. The quality varies at different branches and at times you run into issues with consistency. But this was a good visit where the charcoal chicken thigh skewers was juicy on the inside with a nice crispy char on the outside. Their menu is flat fee 290jpy for any items (drinks included). Must get items include cabbage and chicken and leek skewers. Personally a big fan of unusual cute like grilled chicken heart, gizzard served with scallions and fried chicken soft bone. The fried chicken karage was so-so as they used white meat instead of thigh. Wasn't so tasty but healthier I guess. Great flexible place to hangout with friends for drinks or solo done.

  • I LOVE TORIKIZOKU! Its a chain but is BY FAR the best party and food restaurant. Always a good time. It can get pricey between 2 people, but 3-4 people and splitting the bill is the way to go! Friend having a bad day? Broke too? Revitalize them with good food, good drink, good company, and saving them a couple thousand yen by splitting the bill. TORIKIZOKU IS FOR FRIENDS!! Bro tip: order the pork belly, sprinkle a little bit of salt on there. You’re welcome

  • Loved it here. Was very easy to order even as English speakers. Only downfall would be that staff seemed a bit annoyed and didn’t clear our table until we were finished. Great Japanese tapas. !!! Also not sure why people say this is an ‘all you can eat’, you pay per item.
